The restaurant offers a casual, comfortable experience in a unique setting which combines exquisite artwork with great wine and delicious, yet reasonably priced, classic northern Italian, French and German cuisine. Owner/operators John and Venessa Pottie derived much of their inspiration for the decor and menu from medieval European history and art, as well as John's direct ancestry to Charles the Great ( Charlemagne.) The menu's diversity reflects the expansiveness of the ancient Frankish Empire. The decor of the restaurant houses the largest privately held collection of woven French silk tapestries. These original works of art created using the handloom punch-card weave technology that was invented in 1801 by Joseph M. Jacquard. The collection features 50 different artists including: Raphael, Reni, Vassari, David, Doyan, Hamza, Lonza, Ingres, Girardet, Sonrel, Bonheur, Millet, Morgan, Dore, Tarrant, Bechi, Lonza, Wunsch, Kowalsky,
Wagner, Cot & Coomans.
